Tammy Jackson Player Diary
Bruin setter Tammy Jackson will submit a weekly web diary for the remainder of the 2005 UCLA women's volleyball season. The junior from Poway, Calif., played a critical role in UCLA's 2004 season, stepping in for three matches in mid-October.

Another week has passed and we are approaching the middle of our season. After this weekend we will be done with the first round of Pac-10 play and begin to see teams for the second time. This past weekend we faced the Washington schools and split - beating WSU and dropping our match against UW. Both schools had pretty fierce hecklers. UW fans brought back "No no Nana" and "would you like a facial with that manicure" from last year, two of my personal favorites. The weather wasn't as cold as we expected and might be even worse here in LA right now with all this rain!
We have two more birthdays this week - Rachell [Johnson] and Jordan [Smith] - so don't forget to sing. Rachell will be 21, a fun year, and Jordan will be 19, her last as a teenager. This has definitely been the month for birthdays.
Midterms are approaching and so more of our time is being devoted to studies and things of the sort. The quarter system moves quickly, which has its pros and cons. Good classes go by too fast, but the less enjoyable can be a little more quick and painless. Fall quarter especially always seems to fly by.
This coming weekend we play the Arizona schools, and with Arizona beating Stanford last weekend, a win over the Wildcats could be a very very good thing… so we are pushing to prepare for that match and the ASU game as well. Since we're home this weekend, we're especially motivated to protect our house and our school, so if you can, come and root us on and cheer for the Blue and Gold.
Until next time…all the best.
