Tammy Jackson Player Diary
Bruin setter Tammy Jackson will submit a weekly web diary for the remainder of the 2005 UCLA women's volleyball season. The junior from Poway, Calif., played a critical role in UCLA's 2004 season, stepping in for three matches in mid-October.

Another great week of Bruin Volleyball. Last Friday night we matched up against the Oregon Ducks and came out with a quick three game victory. With the help of a costume clad Men's Volleyball team and obnoxiously loud duck noises from a friend of the team, Miriam Denard, we were able to beat U of O soundly. Saturday's face-off was against the Oregon State Beavers and though the attendance numbers were significantly smaller due to the Cal Football game, I think those who attended the Cal game won't regret it! We wish we could have been there too! It was a great weekend for UCLA Athletics, with Football's comeback, Men's Water Polo wins, and a huge Women's Soccer victory over USC, and we were happy to be part of the winning trend.
We have two Birthdays this week, Katie Carter and Blair Socci. If you get a chance sing them Happy Birthday. They may not hear it, but it's the thought, right?
School is back in full swing… and though homework and other time commitments are creeping back in to our lives, we're still remaining focused on our goals for the season and our means of achieving them. Practices are a little earlier in the morning now, to make sure that we all have time for class and we have picked up our yoga training again to make sure our bodies stay intact as we approach mid-season. This week in practice we have been preparing for our games against the Washington schools, hoping that we can have the same success this weekend as we did the last. Wish us the best and we'll see you when we return.
All the best!
