Adams, Anderson Selected to Preseason Wooden Award List
By: UCLA Athletics

LOS ANGELES – UCLA sophomore guards Jordan Adams and Kyle Anderson have been named to the 2013-14 preseason top 50 John R. Wooden Award list, as announced Tuesday by the Los Angeles Athletic Club.

UCLA is among 11 schools to have at least two selections to this year’s preseason list and is the only Pac-12 Conference program in that category.

Adams, a 6-foot-5 guard from Atlanta, Ga., ranked second on the team last season with 15.3 points per game and scored in double-digits in 25 of 33 games. He scored a team-leading 16 points in UCLA’s season-opening win against Drexel on Friday evening.

Anderson, a 6-foot-9 guard from Fairview, N.J., averaged 9.7 points and a team-leading 8.6 rebounds per game as a freshman in 2012-13. He secured second-team All-Pac-12 honors and was the only player in the conference to rank in the top 10 in rebounds (8.6 rpg) and assists (3.5 apg).

Anderson logged 12 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists in the Bruins’ season-opening victory over Drexel last Friday. He has finished three assists shy of a triple-double twice in his young collegiate career.

UCLA returns to action against Oakland University (Rochester, Mich.) on Tuesday at 6 p.m. in Pauley Pavilion. The game will be televised on Pac-12 Networks and can be heard on the radio on AM 570 (KLAC).
