Love is one of four players (along with Anthony Davis, Kevin Durant and James Harden) named to the training camp roster who helped Team USA win the Olympic gold medal in 2012. He is also one of four roster selections who guided Team USA to a first-place finish at the 2010 World Championship.
As a freshman at UCLA in 2007-08, Love averaged 17.5 points and 10.6 rebounds per game before being selected fifth overall by the Memphis Grizzlies in the 2008 NBA Draft. Love, who was immediately traded to Minnesota, has averaged 19.2 points and 12.2 rebounds per game in six years with the Timberwolves.
In his one season with the Bruins, Love helped UCLA advance to its third consecutive NCAA Final Four, compiling an overall record of 35-4 (including a 16-2 record and first-place finish in the Pac-10 Conference).
The 2014-16 USA National Team training camp will take place July 28 through Aug. 1 in Las Vegas. The 2014 USA World Cup Team will be selected from the group of 19 players who compete at training camp.
A three-time NBA All-Star selection, Love led all NBA players in 2013-14 with 65 double-doubles in 75 games. The native of Lake Oswego, Ore., tallied three triple-doubles.
