SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – UCLA sophomore guard Kyle Anderson has been selected as one of six finalists for the Bob Cousy Award, presented annually to the nation’s top point guard by the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame.

Anderson, a 6-foot-9 product hailing from Fairview, N.J., is joined by Aaron Craft (Ohio State), Tyler Ennis (Syracuse), Shabazz Napier (Connecticut), Marcus Paige (North Carolina) and Fred VanVleet (Wichita State) on the list of five finalists.

Anderson has averaged 14.8 points, 8.7 rebounds and 6.6 assists per game in 31 contests. He is averaging closer to a triple-double than any other player in the nation. Through games played on March 9, Anderson ranked seventh in the country in assists per game and was No. 47 in rebounds per game. As a sophomore in 2013-14, Anderson has led all Pac-12 players with 15 double-doubles, including nine in Pac-12 action.

The final six players in contention for the award will be presented to Bob Cousy and the Hall of Fame’s selection committee, comprised of top college basketball personnel and media members.

The winner of this season’s award will be presented at the Hall of Fame’s Class Announcement on Championship Monday in North Texas as part of NCAA Final Four weekend.
