SAN FRANCISCO – Head Coach Cori Close and senior forward Atonye Nyingifa represented the UCLA women’s basketball program at the Pac-12 Conference’s Women's Basketball Media Day on Thursday, hosted at Pac-12 Network studios in San Francisco.
Nyingifa and Close participated in a variety of interviews with members of the broadcast and print media, in addition to taping spots in promotional videos for Pac-12 Networks and the Pac-12 Tournament in Seattle.
UCLA was selected fifth in the conference’s preseason coaches poll. Stanford was picked to finish first, followed by California, Colorado and Washington. After the Bruins, USC was selected to finish sixth, followed by Utah, Oregon State, Washington State, Arizona State, Arizona and Oregon.
The Bruins will open the regular season at Nebraska on Friday, Nov. 8 at 10:00 a.m. (PT). Prior to that, UCLA will host Vanguard in an exhibition game on Halloween (Oct. 31) at 7:00 p.m.
