Third Annual Samaritan's Feet Shoe Drive This Sunday
By: UCLA Athletics

LOS ANGELES – This November, the UCLA women’s basketball team will partner with The Dream Center for the Third Annual Samaritan’s Feet Shoe Drive.

Bruins fans are encouraged to bring new, unused children's athletic shoes to Samaritan's Feet Faith & Family Day on Sunday, Nov. 24 when UCLA hosts Oklahoma in Pauley Pavilion at 1:00 p.m.

On game day, fans will receive two complimentary admission tickets to the UCLA vs. Oklahoma game by donating a pair of shoes or with a $15 donation at the shoe drive tent along the north side of Pauley Pavilion.

Our goal is to collect at least 500 pairs of shoes. Samaritan’s Feet is a global non-profit organization that brings shoes to the nearly 300 million people who go without shoes each day. Since partnering together in 2011, the UCLA women’s basketball team has held Samaritan's Feet shoes drives the past two years and personally distributed the shoes to a community center in Philadelphia, Pa., and to a local school in Compton, Calif.

There are other ways you can also donate. One is by texting the word shoes to 85944 and $10 will be added to your cell phone bill. Or you may click here to make any size donation you can. We are currently at 15 percent of our goal so we need your help! To learn more about Samaritan's Feet and the needs for the Bruins' shoe drive click here.

On Monday, Dec. 16, the UCLA women’s basketball team along with Dream Center volunteers will go to Rosemont Elementary, a low income area school, to give away the shoes they collected from the drive. Additionally, shoes will be given to homeless and abused families living in the Dream Center, as well as some homeless young adults on skid row.

If you can't make it to the game to drop off your donation, but you have new or unused athletic shoes to give, you may drop them off during regular business hours (8 a.m.-5 p.m.) until Dec. 6 to Pam Walker on the second floor of the J.D. Morgan Center on the campus of UCLA.
