NANJING, China - UCLA sophomore guard Nirra Fields finished her tour of China last week at the Four Nations Women's Basketball Tournament. Traveling with Canada's Senior Women's National Team for the eight-day, six-game tournament, the Canadians finished with a 4-2 record, facing Puerto Rico, Brazil and China in each of the cities of Daqing and Nanjing.

The 5-foot-9-inch guard out of Montreal, Quebec, earned honorable mention Pac-12 All-Freshman Team accolades after averaging 7.8 points and 3.5 rebounds per game for UCLA, which finished the season with a 26-8 overall record and a 14-4 mark in the Pac-12 (third place).

Team Canada kicked-off the tournament with a 63-46 victory over Brazil on July 5 in Daqing. Fields came off the bench and played 20 minutes, scoring six points and registering two assists, one rebound and one block.

The SWNT fell 70-44 to host-nation China in the team's second game on July 6. Fields again came off the bench, playing just 13 minutes, scoring two points and adding one assist.

The Canadians wrapped-up the first leg of the tournament with a 64-45 victory over Puerto Rico on July 7, improving to 2-1. Fields played 17 minutes off the bench, but went scoreless (0-for-2 from three-point range) while adding two rebounds and one steal.

The team then made its way to the city of Nanjing where the SWNT again played Brazil, China and Puerto Rico over the course of three days.

Team Canada began the second leg of the Four Nations Women's Basketball Tournament with a hard-fought 60-54 come-from-behind victory against Brazil on July 10, improving to 3-1. After leading 25-21 at the break, the Canadians found themselves trailing 41-38 entering the fourth quarter. Fields had her best game of the Tournament as a reserve, scoring seven points and adding three rebounds and a game-high three steals in 14 minutes of action.

The SWNT fell 70-65 to China in the fifth game on July 11. Canada led 33-31 at halftime and 45-43 at the end of three periods. Fields came off the bench and scored seven points (1-for-2 from three-point range) in just 5:13 of action.

The Canadians ended the Four Nations Women's Basketball Tournament with a 73-54 victory over Puerto Rico. Fields contributed five points, three rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block in 17 minutes off the bench.

In August, she will return to UCLA for summer school and summer workouts.
