Los Angeles, Calif. - UCLA has earned a No. 1 seed in the 2013 NCAA Baseball Tournament and will host an NCAA Regional at Jackie Robinson Stadium for the fourth straight season. The Regional will run from Friday, May 31 to Monday, June 3 (if necessary).

"Our players are very excited about the opportunity that the postseason presents," head coach John Savage said. "Coming out of the Pac-12, we feel we are very prepared for the challenges that lie ahead this week."

UCLA (39-17) will open postseason play against the No. 4 seed in the NCAA Los Angeles Regional, San Diego State (31-29), on Friday at 6 p.m. No. 2 seed Cal Poly (39-17) will take on No. 3 seed San Diego (35-23) in the other Regional contest on Friday at 2 p.m. Each of 16 NCAA Regionals features a four-team, double-elimination format.

"The teams that are in our Regional are all very good teams that have been challenged throughout the season," said Savage. "They are all west coast teams, so you know that they are going to be prepared and play good baseball."

The Bruins will be hosting an NCAA Regional for the fourth consecutive season, making them one of just three teams to host a Regional in each of the last four years (South Carolina and Virginia). UCLA is also making its fourth straight NCAA Tournament appearance, which is the first time in program history that UCLA has appeared in four straight NCAA Tournaments.

"We are very proud of the program's accomplishments and are excited about hosting a Regional for the fourth straight year," Savage said. "That is very difficult to achieve playing in the Pac-12 Conference and is a testament to the hard work that the players and coaches have put in."

UCLA finished the season with a 21-9 Pac-12 record, tied for the most conference wins in school history and good for a third place finish in the conference. The Bruins are the only team in the Pac-12 to finish in the top three of the conference in each of the last eight seasons. Overall, UCLA will be making its 19th all-time NCAA Tournament appearance and its seventh appearance in the last eight years.

The Pac-12 Conference will send four teams to this year's NCAA Tournament. UCLA, Oregon State and Oregon will all host Regionals while Arizona State will play as the No. 2 seed in the NCAA Fullerton Regional (Cal State Fullerton).

The 64-team NCAA Tournament bracket was revealed on ESPNU's hour-long selection show earlier today at 9 a.m.
