Five UCLA men's water polo players have been selected to All-MPSF Teams, as announced by the conference office Tuesday. Redshirt freshman goalkeeper Garrett Danner was named MPSF Newcomer of the Year and was also named honorable mention All-MPSF. Senior defender Chris Wendt and sophomore utility Danny McClintick also garnered honorable mention accolades while junior attacker Paul Reynolds and junior utility Cristiano Mirarchi were named to the second team.

Danner (Coto de Caza, Calif./El Toro HS) is the Bruins’ first-ever MPSF Newcomer of the Year, backed by an MPSF-Best 6.32 goals-against average and a third-highest 11.05 saves per game average. Danner earned his first career conference player of the week award on September 23, after leading UCLA to the NorCal Tournament title. He accumulated 40 saves in 15 quarters (10.67 SPG) that weekend, topped off by a pair of 12-save outings in the semifinal vs. Cal and final vs. No. 1 USC. Bruin opponents totaled only 21 goals over the four NorCal games (5.25 GPG). Danner collected a career-high 15 saves in the MPSF Quarterfinal win against UC Santa Barbara and broke the school record for saves in a single season with 262.

Reynolds (Santa Ana, Calif./Foothill HS) led the Bruins in scoring with 47 goals (1.57 gpg), which ranked 18th in the MPSF. In addition, Reynolds ranked second on the team in steals (37), was third in field blocks (12) and was tied for fourth in assists (25). It is the third All-MPSF honor for Reynolds.

Mirarchi (Rome, Italy/Evangelista Torricelli) tied for sixth on the team in scoring with 28 goals. He also finished third on the squad in assists (40) and in field blocks (13) and seventh in steals with 24. It is the third All-MPSF honor for Mirarchi.

Wendt (River Forrest, Ill./Fenwick HS) tied for sixth on the team in scoring with 28 goals. He led the team in field blocks (16) and was fourth in steals (33) and 10th in assists (18).

McClintick (Agoura Hills, Calif./Agoura HS) finished second on the squad in scoring with 38 goals (1.19 gpg). He led the Bruins in assists (62) and was second in field blocks (15) and sixth in steals (26).
