UCLA goalkeeper Katelyn Rowland was named the Pac-12 Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week and selected to the Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Week for Sept. 2-8.

Rowland, a junior from Vacaville, Calif., earned her first career nod after earning All-Tournament honors and tallying 11 saves at the Duke Nike Classic in Durham, N.C. In a 1-0 loss to No.1-ranked North Carolina on Friday, she posted a career-high seven saves that kept UCLA within striking distance of the defending national champions. Facing the No. 12 Blue Devils on Sunday, the Bruins’ fourth-straight game against a ranked opponent, Rowland protected a shutout until the final seconds of the game as UCLA posted a 2-1 victory. Rowland recorded the 100th save of her career in the second half against Duke to move into a tie for sixth place on the team’s all-time saves list.

Arizona State forward Devin Marshall was selected the Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week.

No. 5 UCLA (5-1) is back in action on Friday, Sept. 13 against San Diego State at 4:30 pm in a game that will air live on the Pac-12 Networks.
