Kaskie, a freshman from Las Vegas, Nev., earned Offensive Player of the Week honors after scoring the game-winning goal in No. 2 UCLA’s 2-1 double-overtime win at No. 5 Stanford. Kaskie needed only five minutes of playing time to score the big goal in the second overtime. After a string of seven passes, Kaskie found herself at the top of the arc, where she lofted a left-footed shot over the Stanford goalkeeper for the golden goal in the 106th minute. Kaskie’s first collegiate goal of her career helped the Bruins win at Stanford for the first time since 2007, snapping a seven-match losing streak to the Cardinal.
Additionally, Bruin goalkeeper Katelyn Rowland was selected to the CS360 Primetime Performers Weekly Honor Roll. Rowland, a junior from Vacaville, Calif., picked up two shutouts last week, shutting out Washington, 0-0, on Monday and eighth-ranked California, 1-0, on Sunday. Rowland leads the Pac-12 with a 0.36 goals against average and is tied for second in shutouts with eight.
Second-ranked UCLA returns home to host Arizona State on Friday night at 7 pm.
