UCLA Ranked No. 1 in NSCAA and Pac-12 Preseason Polls
By: UCLA Athletics
The defending NCAA champion UCLA women's soccer team will begin the season ranked No. 1 in the NSCAA preseason coaches' poll and has additionally been selected for the second-straight year as the preseason favorite to win the Pac-12 title.

The Bruins earned the maximum 121 points in the Pac-12 Coaches poll, receiving 11 first-place votes (coaches cannot vote for their own teams). Stanford earned the other first place vote and finished second in the poll with 110 points, followed by Cal with 91 points. This was the same order of finish in last season's coaches poll. Also finishing in the Top 5 were No. 4 USC and No. 5 Colorado. Washington State finished in sixth, Utah seventh, Arizona State and Washington tied for eighth, Arizona 10th, Oregon 11th and Oregon State 12th.

Soccer America Coach of the Year Amanda Cromwell returns 10 starters from last year's national and Pac-12 championship squad, including the entire backline that led the nation in goals against average (0.30). The Bruins boast a national-best four MAC Hermann Watch List honorees in Abby Dahlkemper, Darian Jenkins, Sarah Killion and Katelyn Rowland.

The Bruins play No. 9 Texas A&M in an exhibition contest on Friday, Aug. 15 at 5pm on the North Athletic Field before officially kicking off their season with the season opener on Friday, Aug. 22 against Maryland. That game kicks off at 7pm at Marshall Field at Drake Stadium and will be televised live on Pac-12 Networks.

UCLA will host two of the Top 6 teams ranked in the NSCAA preseason poll - No. 4 North Carolina on Aug. 29 and No. 6 Stanford on Oct. 9.
