Amanda Cromwell Named Women's Coach of the Year by Soccer America
By: UCLA Athletics
UCLA head coach Amanda Cromwell was selected by Soccer America as its 2013 Women's Coach of the Year. In her first season with the Bruins, Cromwell led UCLA to its first-ever NCAA Championship.

Under Cromwell's direction, the NCAA and Pac-12 champion Bruins finished 2013 with a 22-1-3 record and a 21-match unbeaten streak. UCLA had one of the most impressive NCAA Tournament runs of all-time, eliminating three No. 1 seeds and the previous two NCAA Champions. During their run, the Bruins gave up just one goal in six tournament games and won the championship game against top-ranked Florida State, 1-0 in overtime. UCLA allowed only eight goals all season and led the nation in goals against average (0.30).

Cromwell, who holds a 246-99-30 career record in 16 seasons as a head coach, is the first UCLA coach ever to be honored as Soccer America's Women's Coach of the Year.
