Los Angeles - Riding a five-game winning streak, the UCLA women's soccer team achieved its highest national ranking in the eight-year history of the program Monday, checking in at No. 5 in the latest poll issued by the NSCAA.

UCLA's previous highest ranking came last season when the Bruins climbed to No. 7 in the NSCAA rankings released on October 11.

UCLA debuted at No. 14 in the preseason NSCAA rankings this season, however have won five of its last six matches, including a 4-0 shutout over No. 10 Florida in Gainesville. The Bruins' only loss this season came at the hands of then-No. 6 Clemson, a 1-0 decision in South Carolina on Aug. 25.

With the Bruin men ranked No. 1 in the country for the second-straight week, UCLA is the only school in the nation to have both its men's and women's teams ranked in the top-5.

The Bruin women are off for the next two weeks and don't play again until a road match with the University of San Diego on Sept. 24.
