Milburn Named Honda Award Finalist

Los Angeles -- UCLA senior forward Tracey Milburn was named one of five finalists for the prestigious Honda Award on Monday, given annually to the to the top collegiate soccer player in the country. Milburn, who was named a second-team NSCAA All-American last week, is the first UCLA player ever nominated for the award.

Joining Milburn on the list are, Meghan Anderson (Nebraska), Meredith Florance (North Carolina), Anne Makinen (Notre Dame) and Christie Welsh (Penn State).

The 2000 Pac-10 Player of the Year, Milburn ranked second on the team in scoring this season with 32 points on 13 goals and six assists. She was named first-team All-Pac-10 for the third straight season, helping UCLA to its best season in history as the Bruins advanced to the championship game of the College Cup.

In only three seasons in Westwood, Milburn ranks second in both goals scored (33) and points (81) on the UCLA career scoring charts. Milburn played her freshman season at Pepperdine.
