Los Angeles -- UCLA forward Stephanie Rigamat has been called up to the Full U.S. Women's National Team and will accompany the squad on its upcoming trip to China, U.S. Soccer officials announced on Tuesday.
The U.S. is scheduled to play two matches against China, one on Jan. 11th in Pangyu and another on Jan. 14th in Hangzhou. The team will depart on Jan. 7th and return to the United States on the 15th.
Rigamat, the Bruins' leading scorer this year with 13 goals and 11 assists (37 pts.), helped UCLA to its first-ever Final Four appearance in 2000. She scored the game-winning goal to defeat Portland 1-0 in the NCAA Semifinals, sending UCLA into the championship match against North Carolina.
Rigamat, who prior to this year had no previous national team experience at any level, was on the bench when the U.S. played Japan on Dec. 17 in Phoenix, however did not play.
