UCLA Wins Twice at UCSB Winter Invitational

Sparked by 15 combined goals from junior Emily Donohoe and sophomore Kodi Hill, third-ranked UCLA won twice at the UCSB Winter Invitational women’s water polo event Saturday.

The Bruins, 6-0, defeated Cal State Monterey Bay 15-2 in their opener, and beat CS Northridge, 14-6 earlier this evening.

Donohoe scored four goals in each game and Hill added four in the first game and three in the evening match.

Against CSMB, the Bruins jumped out to a 5-1 first period lead en route to a 10-1 halftime advantage.

Against the Matadors, junior Alys Williams added three goals, as the Bruins rode a 10-2 halftime lead to an eight-goal victory.

UCLA goalkeepers Sami Hill and Alex Musselman recorded six and three saves, respectively, against CS Northridge.

In other news earlier in the week, Kodi Hill was named MPSF Player of the Week for her performance at the UCLA Invitational, Jan. 18-19. Hill scored a total of six goals in four games (1.5 gpg) and recorded 10 assists and seven steals.
