USTFCCCA RANKINGS

NEW ORLEANS – The UCLA men’s and women’s cross country teams continue to be prominent figures in the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Division I Coaches Poll.

After one week of competition in the 2013 campaign, both teams are ranked in the West Region. The men checked in at number two in the region while the women are ranked 10th. In the national rankings the men moved up a spot to number 13.

UCLA is coming off an impressive performance at the Mustang Challenge to start the season, with both teams claiming wins at Central Park in Santa Clarita. Kesley Smith took top honors for the women in the 5K while Sergey Sushchikh won the men’s 8K race.

The Bruins will return to the trail on Friday, Oct. 4, at the NCAA Preview held on the Haggin Oaks Golf Course in Sacramento.
