What are you looking forward to most about being a member of the team?
Building friendships that last a lifetime.
Why did you choose UCLA?
Dream school and my dad went here, his parents went to USC.
How did your family react to your college decision?
Very happy because it’s close to home.
When did you begin competing and why?
In high school because my brother was on the XC and track team and he was my ride home.
When did you realize you could compete at the Division 1 level?
When I got my first letter, I cried like a baby when I got one from UCLA sophomore year.
What is your proudest accomplishment?
Going to my dream school.
What has been the biggest adjustment you've had to make as a college athlete?
Being on the quarter system, dealing with injuries, running in big packs and having new coaches.
What goals do you have for this season?
To have fun and help the team go to nationals.
Have you decided on or what is your major and why?
I’m a political science major, but I’m also going pre-med so I’m crazy I guess for doing two completely different things.
What are your plans after college?
To run and go to med school.
Is there any other athlete, either professional or collegiate, that inspires you?
The entire girls XC team. Honestly they have helped me on pretty bad days and they never give up on me and I do like Kara Goucher and Jenny Simpsen.
Aside from cross country, what is your favorite sport?
I like watching gymnastics and football. I mean they wear pink in October in football, it’s pretty cool.
Athletes have strict diet regimens, but if there is one food you cannot live without, what is it?
I’m not on a diet, but I do love chocolate, like a chocolate cupcake would be yummy.
What's on your iPod right now?
Pop, Country, Alternative etc., pretty much everything.
