Bruins Head to Seattle for NCAA Regionals

Nov. 7, 2012

Los Angeles, Calif. - Coach Forest Braden and the cross country teams head north to Seattle for Friday's NCAA West Regional meet, hosted by fellow Pac-12 competitor Washington at the Jefferson Park Golf Course. After a solid performance in the conference meet two weeks ago, the men's and women's squads look to run strong in the Regional competition to catapult themselves into the NCAA Championships.

The afternoon will kick off with the women's 6,000m at 12:00 pm. The men will follow, hearing the sound of the gun for their 10,000m race at 1:15 pm.

The men currently rank fifth in the West and the women are running well in sixth on the women's side. The top teams of both the men's and women's races are Pac-12 opponents, headlined by first place Stanford in the men's half, and by the Pac-12 champion, first place Oregon Ducks in the women's. It looks to be a Pac-12-filled event this Friday in Seattle, with nine of twelve conference institutions represented.
