NEW ORLEANS – UCLA cross country student-athletes Kelsey Smith and Nohe Lema garnered All-Region honors as announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) following the weekend’s NCAA regional championships meets.

A total of 450 student-athletes earned the distinction by finishing among the top 25 individual finishers at one of the nine regional sites across the country.

Smith paced the UCLA women in the 6k event with an 11th place finish in a time of 19:46. It was the best finish for a Bruin on the women’s side since Allie Bohannon placed 11th in 2006. Senior Nohe Lema paced the men’s squad with a 30:18 to finish 21st overall in the 10k event to earn all-region honors for the second straight season.
