Robart Page, a 7-0 senior outside hitter for then-No. 7 UCLA, has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Men’s Division I-II National Player of the Week.
The seven-footer led the Bruins in kills to help defeat three ranked opponents in the top-15 of the AVCA Coaches Poll: Penn State (No. 11), Ohio State (No. 12) and Hawai’i (No. 14) last week in the Outrigger Hotels Invitational in Honolulu, HI. Page notched a career-high 23 kills against the Nittany Lions, also hitting .525 with 11 digs and three total blocks.  He went on to collect a combined 28 kills and 12 digs against the Buckeyes and the Rainbow Warriors hitting .292 and .379, respectively.
With the win over Hawai’i, the Bruins won the Outrigger Hotels Invitational Tournament with Page taking home the Most Outstanding Player for his efforts.  For the week, he averaged 4.3 kills, 1.9 digs and 4.9 points per set hitting at a .419 clip.
This is the 19th time in program history a UCLA student-athlete has garnered Sports Imports/Player of the Week honors, with the most recent coming from Gonzalo Quiroga on April 4th of last year.  The Bruins are coached by John Speraw, who is in his second year at the helm.
This week, Speraw's sixth-ranked Bruins will host top-ranked Stanford on Friday in Pauley Pavilion. First serve is at 3 p.m. Tickets will be available at the door. On Saturday, UCLA hosts UOP at 7 p.m. in Pauley Pavilion.
