The top-ranked UCLA men's volleyball team, which is riding a six-match winning streak, hosts two matches this weekend before taking a week off for final examinations, Mar. 18-22.

On Fri., Mar. 15, the Bruins (20-3, 13-2) host No.10 UC Irvine (11-11, 5-10) and on Sat., Mar. 16, the Bruins entertain George Mason (10-4). Both matches begin at 7 p.m. in Pauley Pavilion.

The Bruins defeated the Anteaters, 3-0, on Jan. 11 in the first round of the Wyndham Gardens Invitational. In that match, junior Cameron Mount led the Bruins with 15 kills (.545) and freshman Jonathan Acosta added 12 (.375). UCLA leads the series, 40-1, and has won five straight.

UCLA leads the series with George Mason, 7-0, but the two teams have not met since 1991.

Last weekend, the Bruins won a pair of MPSF matches at home, defeating Pacific and Stanford, 3-0.

On Mar. 12, the Bruins defeated Concordia College of New York, 3-1.

Against Pacific, Mount led UCLA with 22 kills (.563), five digs, three block assists and an ace. Senior Matt Komer added 15 kills (.379) and five digs.

Against Stanford, the Bruins avenged their Feb. 16 loss with a sweep. Four players recorded double-digit kills, led by Mount and junior Scott Morrow who each spiked 13.

Against Concordia, the Bruins received a solid performance from backup freshman setter Sebastian Miller. Miller filled in for starter Rich Nelson who sat out because of illness. The 6-3 Miller recorded a career-high of 57 set assists, five digs and one kill in four games of work. Four players recorded double-digit kills, led by Acosta, who slammed a season-high of 21.
