The top-ranked UCLA men's volleyball team defeated Concordia College of New York Tuesday night in a non-conference match for both teams.
The Bruins (20-3) won 30-26, 30-26, 28-30, 31-29 in one hour and 53 minutes before 286 fans in Pauley Pavilion.
The Clippers fell to 7-11.
Freshman Jonathan Acosta pounded 21 kills to go along with eight digs and five blocks. Sophomore Chris Pena added 16 kills (.538), seven block assists and two aces. Junior Cameron Mount and senior Matt Komer each added 12 kills. Freshman setter Sebastian Miller distributed 57 assists, a career high, in his first start.
Freshman Diego Escobar led both teams with 36 kills (.458), 11 digs and a pair of aces.
The Bruins won the battle at the net, out-blocking the Clippers, 13.0-9.5.
The Bruins' next match will be Fri., Mar. 15 vs. UC Irvine at 7 p.m. in Pauley Pavilion.
