Top-ranked UCLA meets unranked UC San Diego Friday, Apr. 15 in the final regular season conference match for both teams. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. at UCSD's Rimac Arena.
The Bruins (24-4, 17-4) lost in four games Thursday night at Long Beach State. The setback gave Pepperdine the outright conference title and the right to host the MPSF semifinals and finals, Apr. 28 & 30. The Bruins, as the No. 2 seed, will host an MPSF quarterfinal match on Apr. 23 at 7 p.m. in Pauley Pavilion.
UC San Diego (1-19, 2-22) dropped a three-game decision to UC Irvine on Thursday night. The Tritons have never beaten the Bruins, and trail 39-0 in the series. Friday's match will be the final contest for UCSD Coach Ron Larsen, who has been named an assistant coach for the U.S. National Team.
UCLA's quarterfinal opponent will not be determined until the result of a play-in match between the No.7 and No.8 seeds on Apr. 20.
