UCLA soccer alumni Carlos Bocanegra, Jonathan Bornstein, and Benny Feilhaber will be on hand for the U.S. Soccer National Team's World Cup Qualifying game in Mexico City on Wednesday, Aug. 12. The game will be held in Estadio Azteca at 1 pm PT and will be televised live on Telemundo and mun2.
The U.S. will be seeking its first-ever win on Mexican soil, going into the match with an overall record of 0-22-1 in Mexico. With a record of 3-1-1 through five games of qualifying for the 2010 FIFA World Cup, the U.S. currently sits in second place in the final round of qualifying. Mexico is in fourth place in the group with a 2-3-0 record. The top three teams automatically advance to the 2010 FIFA World Cup, while the fourth place team will participate in a two-leg playoff against the fifth place team from South America.
