Olathe, Kan. - Career Athletes is excited to announce the 2011-2012 National Collegiate Advisory Board. Comprised of individuals with experience in the area of student-athlete development, life skills, and academic services, the board's mission is to advance innovative software, creative ideas, and university partnerships to ultimately progress career education and professional networking for current and former collegiate athletes.
"Essentially, we are progressing the student-athlete experience by the way career development is viewed and embraced in collegiate athletics," said DJ Washington, Vice President of Training and Development at Career Athletes.
"Student-athletes experience the pressure to win both in the classroom and in competition. Unfortunately, the same pressure is nonexistent when it comes to career-readiness - perhaps the most important thing," explained Washington. "During our economic downturn, this is a tremendous problem that we must address right now. Fortunately, we have gathered the most respected and forward-thinking athletic administrators around the country that are committed to finding the solution."
