Five of the Bruins returnees were starters in the NBA this past season. They are (in alphabetical order): Trevor Ariza, New Orleans Hornets; Baron Davis, Cleveland Cavaliers; Kevin Love, Minnesota Timberwolves; Luc Richard Mbah a Moute, Milwaukee Bucks; and Russell Westbrook, Oklahoma City Thunder. Davis was the No. 3 selection in the 1999 NBA Draft; Westbrook was the No. 4 selection in the 2008 NBA Draft; Love was the No. 5 selection in the 2008 NBA Draft; Mbah a Moute was the 37th pick in the 2008 NBA Draft and Ariza was the 43rd selection in the 2004 NBA Draft.
For good measure, 1995 NCAA Player of the Year Ed O'Bannon, who led the Bruins to their 11th NCAA title, is also in school, having attended first summer session as well. He was the No. 9 selection in the 1995 NBA Draft.
