DAY CAMP CHECK-IN/DROP-OFF & PICK-UP
Check-in/drop-off for the day camps (Sessions #1-3, #5 and #7) will take place in Parking Structure #7 daily, from 8:30-8:45AM, and check-out daily at 5:00PM at the same location. Counselors will greet parents each morning at the plaza steps entrance, and walk campers to the LATC.
OVERNIGHT CAMP CHECK-IN & CHECK-OUT
All campers for Sessions #4 and #6 will check-in at the Hedrick Summit residence hall, from 9:00-9:30AM on the first day of camp (including both commuter options). Counselors will walk campers down to the courts, and camper classifications will then take place that first morning, prior to lunch. At the conclusion of camp, there will be a closing ceremony (which parents and friends are welcome to attend) in the LATC clubhouse at 2:30PM. Camp check-out follows at 3:00PM that afternoon, when all resident campers will return to the dorms to get their bags.
EARLY & LATE COMMUTERS
In sessions #4 and #6 only, those campers choosing not to stay overnight can choose between Early Commuter and Late Commuter enrollment options. Early Commuter sessions are 8:45AM-5:00PM and Late Commuter sessions are 8:45AM-9:00PM (aside from the first and last days - see check-in & check-out above). Pick-up for Late Commuters will be at Gate E of the LATC. The last day of camp will end at 3:00PM with the closing ceremony. Both commuter options include lunch; the Late Commuter enrollment also includes dinner and several private evening lessons throughout the week, as well as other tennis activities.
VIDEO ANALYSIS
This personal DVD instructional video lesson with Coach Martin offers his one-on-one analysis of how your child can improve on all aspects of his/her game. Coach Martin will discuss grip changes, footwork and strategy as he films and comments on the forehand, backhand, volley, and serve. This valuable learning tool is beneficial for all ability levels, from beginners to future collegiate players. The cost is $200 and space is limited to 8 per session. (This personal one-on-one video lesson is separate from the daily videotaping of one particular stroke, as well as the evening private lessons offered during residential camp session, that are done free of charge for all campers).
FACILITIES & ACCOMMODATIONS
The UCLA Tennis Camp will be held at the Los Angeles Tennis Center, home to the UCLA Tennis teams, as well as the Sycamore Tennis Courts. Overnight campers stay in the UCLA residence halls, and meals are served in the award-winning UCLA residential restaurants, which offer a variety of food on an all-you-care-to-eat basis for a well rounded, balanced diet. Overnight campers are housed in double-occupancy rooms at Hedrick Summit, with private adjoining bathrooms, and are supervised by coaches and counselors also staying in the residence hall. Roommate preferences will be accommodated whenever possible, but cannot be guaranteed. If no roommate is requested, roommates will be assigned according to gender and age.
