YOUTH SWIM CAMP PROGRAM
The UCLA Swim camps are developmental camps designed to provide quality instruction and training for swimmers of all abilities. The purpose of the camp is to specifically develop and improve the four competitive strokes, including starts and turns, in a FUN atmosphere.

The swim camps take place on the UCLA campus at the Student Activities Center pool, the North Pool and the Spieker Aquatics Center, under the direction of UCLA Head Coach Cyndi Gallagher. She will be joined by a staff of highly qualified and enthusiastic coaches, counselors and collegiate swimmers – including current members of the UCLA Swim team.

NEW THIS YEAR for the UCLA Swim Camps, there are two specific tracts for swimmers:

BEGINNER/INTERMEDIATE SWIMMER – For swimmers wanting to learn all four strokes. It is more focused on stroke technique development and proper stroke mechanics, along with racing every day!

COMPETITIVE SWIMMER – For the high school and club swimmer that wants to learn elite level technique and training skills. There will be challenging training sessions along with stroke technique sessions every day. This is a more intensive training and stroke technique tract for experienced swimmers.

The typical daily schedule is:

  • Pool sessions that include stroke development and refinement, stroke drills and start and turns
  • Classroom sessions with videos of technique and race strategies of the fastest swimmers in the world
  • Lunch – campers can bring a lunch from home, or purchase one from the Ackerman Student Union

    NEW this year:

  • A video session with each camper taking home a DVD of their swimming
  • Free time at Spieker Aquatics Center with the diving boards and hot tub
  • A swim meet on the last afternoon of camp that includes FUN races and relays (with the coaches!)

    ELITE SWIM ACADEMY
The Bruin Elite Swim Academy is offering an exciting teaching and training opportunity for competitive swimmers, held at the beautiful Spieker Aquatics Center on the UCLA campus. This camp is specifically designed for experienced swimmers that want to immerse themselves in competitive swimming – learning better stroke technique, faster starts and turns, and becoming more knowledgeable on race strategy, mental preparation, goal setting and nutrition. It includes training sessions every day, and focuses on stroke technique and drill work for all stroke, as well as on starts and turns. There will be videotaping and analysis available for each swimmer. The academy is open to boys and girls that are competitive swimmer, ages 9-18, and it is recommended that campers are currently involved in a competitive swim program. If you want to take your swimming to the next level, come join us at the Bruin Elite Swim Academy!
