Student Marketing Intern
The UCLA Athletics Marketing Department is looking for energetic, determined, detail-oriented and responsible UCLA students interested in working as a sports marketing student intern for the 2012-13 academic year. The Sports Marketing Internship is designed to support the marketing, promotions, and community relations programs in the UCLA Athletic Department. Student interns will be expected to perform duties that include, but are not limited to:

  • Actively participate in planning and implementing special events and promotions.
  • Interact with Bruin fans at various UCLA Athletic events.

    Student Graphic Design Internship
    The UCLA Athletics Marketing Department is looking for a graphic design intern to begin projects from June 2012 through the 2012-13 academic year. Design intern will work on various design campaigns for football, basketball and other Olympic Sports teams. Projects will include newspaper ads, posters, signage, flyers, trading cards, digital assets, etc. Qualified candidates must be creative, able to produce eye-catching designs and have a strong sense for effective layout and use of typography.     Student Equipment Manager
    Applications are being accepted for immediate employment of student equipment managers for all 22 intercollegiate sports teams. Under general supervision of the Head Equipment Coordinator and Head Coach of specific sport, student manager will assist with the issuing, fitting, repair and maintenance of equipment and apparel. Student manager will also transport equipment to and from games/ practice and assist in inventory control. Position entails interaction with athletic department employees, vendors, players and coaches. Paid position through UCLA scholarship. Applications will be accepted until position is filled.     Student Video Assistant
    The UCLA Intercollegiate Athletic Department is accepting applications for TWO Student Video Assistant positions to begin immediately. Applicants MUST BE CURRENT, FULL-TIME UCLA STUDENTS. Duties include operating broadcast quality cameras at UCLA sporting events. Applicants must be energetic, hardworking, and able to lift 50 lbs.     STAFF/ADMINISTRATIVE POSITIONS

    Account Executive, Ticket Sales
    The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) is accepting applications for the position of Account Executive - Ticket Sales. Under the direct supervision of the Director of Outbound Sales, the Account Executive - Ticket Sales will sell Football and Men's Basketball season tickets, mini plans, group and individual game tickets. Incumbent will increase ticket sales revenue by maintaining an appropriate call volume to achieve and exceed weekly, monthly and annual sales goals as set by management. These calls will be supplemented with email marketing, face-to-face presentations and in-arena/stadium tours. Incumbent will work all home games as needed, performing various ticket sales and service duties, fulfilling events, servicing groups, and prospecting new sales throughout the game. Performance of assigned duties and responsibilities will be subject to evaluation by the Director of Outbound Sales. Continued employment will be contingent upon satisfactory performance, meeting targeted goals and compliance with University, PAC-12 and NCAA rules and regulations.

    All applicants should demonstrate the following abilities: Previous experience selling tickets for a professional and/or college sports program is preferred; Proven track record in sales and building quality relationships, friendly and professional telephone manner and cold calling; Ability to establish solid relationships and work cooperatively with other team members in pursuit of sales goals; Ability to meet sales goals and deadlines; Excellent written, verbal, listening and presentation skills; Working knowledge and experience of men's and women's athletic events and procedures is preferred; Demonstrated organizational skills; Ability to work under time constraints and with conflicting deadlines, frequent interruptions and distractions; Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule, with the ability to work irregular hours, including nights and weekends; Skill in interacting effectively with coaches, student-athletes, parents, administrators, staff, vendors and the general public; Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build effective relationships; Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook and Adobe programs; Experience with ticketing software is preferred; Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to comply with University, Pacific-12 Conference and NCAA rules and regulations; Education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree.     Athletic Trainer
    The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) is accepting applications for the position of Athletic Trainer. Under the supervision of the Head Athletic Trainer, coordinate, at a high level, athletic injury prevention, evaluation, management and rehabilitation to UCLA varsity student-athletes. Organize injury prevention programs. Share responsibility of Athletic Training services for various teams as assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer. Training services to include: coordination of physical exams for team, evaluation and treatment of injuries, design and supervision of rehabilitation programs, and supervise and counsel student Athletic Trainers assigned to practice and game taping. Communicate and document athletes' progress to athletic training staff, physicians, conditioning staff and coaches. Maintain written and computerized documentation on all athletes' injuries, treatments and rehabilitation. Refer injured athletes to UCLA team physicians as appropriate. Organize informative bimonthly in-service seminars. Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer. Must possess ability to adhere to and comply with Department, University, NCAA and PAC-12 rules and regulations.

    All applicants should demonstrate the following abilities: Working knowledge of anatomy, physiology and biomechanics as related to musculoskeletal athletic injuries of the peripheral joints and spine; Ability to perform clinical and sideline evaluation of injury and the ability to design and implement basic treatment programs; Ability to operate therapeutic and exercise equipment; Ability to maintain accurate and concise evaluations and treatment records; Working knowledge and basic skill in therapeutic exercise techniques and functional progression programs; Working knowledge and basic skill in peripheral joint and soft tissue techniques; Ability to communicate with and maintain cooperative working relationships with all Staff, Physicians, Coaches, Student-Athletes, and outside vendors.

    Working knowledge and basic skill in spinal mobilization techniques; Working knowledge of common systemic illnesses and management which may interfere with athletic participation; Skill in the application of protective wraps, tape and bracing devices; Ability to evaluate and provide for the immediate management of injuries which occur on the practice field or during competition; Demonstrated skill in progressing athletes' rehabilitation programs independently or in consultation with Staff Physical Therapist or Team Physicians; Certified as an Athletic Trainer in good standing with the NATABOC (National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification); Must be CPR/AED certified; Education and relevant experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree; Master's degree or equivalent experience as required by NATABOC; Ability to perform under difficult situations and maintain composure in the face of resistance, indifference or hostility; Demonstrated word processing and computer skills necessary to complete assignments with speed and accuracy; Ability to write clear and concise business correspondence and reports; Ability to operate a computer with working knowledge of various computer software systems: Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes, and SIMS Injury Tracking Software; Knowledge of Departmental, University, PAC-12 and NCAA policies, procedures, rules and regulations; Previous NCAA Division I experience.     Assistant Graphic Artist

Under the direct supervision of the Senior Graphic Artist, assist with the production of a wide range of projects associated with the UCLA Athletics Hall of Fame, Pauley Pavilion, and the UCLA Athletic Department. Assist in selecting material for inclusion in visual presentations, publications, reports, and displays with an emphasis on print, photo, and banner media. Catalogue and archive all media format and archival material related to the Hall of Fame and update video presentations in the Spirit Theater. Limited employment through October 31, 2012.     Head Men's Volleyball Coach
    The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) is accepting applications for the position of Head Men's Volleyball Coach. Responsibilities and duties are as follows: planning, development and administration of all phases of the volleyball program including preparation and management of the budget, practice and game scheduling, travel arrangements and cost management, procurement of supplies/equipment, recruitment and selection of student-athletes and managers, interaction with support services and involvement in appropriate public relations/fundraising and promotional activities. Candidate must be committed to a philosophy that emphasizes academic priorities for the student-athlete. Emphasis is placed on the commitment to and responsibility for adhering to all rules and regulations of UCLA, the MPSF Conference and the NCAA. Candidate must possess the ability to work compatibly and cooperatively with the staff and personnel in the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and other University units. Required qualifications include: bachelor's degree from an accredited university, knowledge of NCAA Division I rules and a record of compliance in this area, fiscal management, effective communication skills with student-athletes, administrators, peers and the general public, 3-5 years demonstrated coaching experience and ability to select, recruit and train elite volleyball athletes. Preferred qualifications include: successful head coaching experience at the Division I level. Continued employment is contingent upon completion of a satisfactory background investigation.
