Academic Peer Learning Lab (APLL) Monitor
The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) is accepting applications for the position of part-time Athletics Peer Learning Lab (APLL) Monitor. Under the supervision of the APLL Manager, assist with all aspects of the APLL; including the following Maintain a consistent, on-time weekly work schedule; consult with staff about areas of priority for each shift; and appropriately assess how to prioritize tasks during each shift; Interact with all staff, facilitators, students, and visitors in a professional manner; Assist staff members in the nightly opening, running, closing, and securing of the lab; Monitor lab activities to uphold a safe, respectful, and productive environment in sessions and the lab, including sitting in peer learning appointments, checking in with facilitators and students, and patrolling the lab premises; Clearly communicate lab policies and procedures to facilitators, students, and visitors; Intervene in problematic situations according to lab policies and consistent standards; Help educate students about their responsibilities and appropriate behavior in sessions; Observe and counsel facilitators as needed to ensure adherence to all lab policies; Assist in maintaining the overall working order of the lab, enforce proper use of peer learning spaces and equipment, and ensure that furniture is kept in assigned areas and not removed without appropriate approvals; Communicate with staff or contact campus authorities promptly for assistance if needed; Compose and submit a nightly incident report documenting any violations of lab policies, specific actions taken, problematic behaviors, or other pertinent observations; Report unresolved problems to supervisor in a timely manner; and Assist with other lab duties as requested.

Applicants must be able to work 16 hours per week in the APLL, at the rate of $10 per hour. Scheduled hours will be Monday-Thursday, 6PM-10PM, Weeks 2-10 of each academic quarter and Weeks 1-6 of each summer session.

Development Assistant
The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) is accepting applications for the position of part-time Development Assistant. Under the direct supervision of the Director of Special Events and Associate Athletic Director for Development, assist with all aspects of the UCLA Development Office; including the Wooden Athletic Fund, Bruin Varsity Club, capital campaigns, donor events, membership solicitation and renewals, general office operations, and customer service. Assist with coordination of major gifts and capital campaign events. Assist in the daily operation of the Wooden Athletic Fund Office, including, but not limited to, responding to donor needs. Work up to 17 hours per week in the Athletics Development office, at the rate of $9 per hour.

Student Equipment Manager
Applications are being accepted for immediate employment of student equipment managers for all 22 intercollegiate sports teams. Under general supervision of the Head Equipment Coordinator and Head Coach of specific sport, student manager will assist with the issuing, fitting, repair and maintenance of equipment and apparel. Student manager will also transport equipment to and from games/ practice and assist in inventory control. Position entails interaction with athletic department employees, vendors, players and coaches. Paid position through UCLA scholarship. Applications will be accepted until position is filled. Student Video Assistant
The UCLA Intercollegiate Athletic Department is accepting applications for TWO Student Video Assistant positions to begin immediately. Applicants MUST BE CURRENT, FULL-TIME UCLA STUDENTS. Duties include operating broadcast quality cameras at UCLA sporting events. Applicants must be energetic, hardworking, and able to lift 50 lbs. INTERNSHIPS

Game Management Intern
The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) is accepting applications for the position of Game Operations Intern. Under the direct supervision of the Associate Athletic Director- Game Operations/Travel in a learning capacity, provide administrative services for the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. Involved primarily with management of game day/event operations, individual team travel, departments booster travel program, official pre-game tailgate function, group services, and customer services. Major functions include marketing and program development of department booster travel program, management of departments corporate and pre-game hospitality operations, coordination of customer service program, coordination of department's travel expense reimbursement section, coordination of various team travel plans and management of event day operations. Must possess ability to adhere to and comply with Department, University, NCAA and PAC-12 rules and regulations. One year contract with the option to extend for a second year. Continued employment will be contingent upon satisfactory performance, meeting targeted goals and compliance with University, PAC-12 and NCAA rules and regulations.

Academics & Student Services (AS2) Intern
The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) is accepting applications for the position of part-time Academics & Student Services (AS2) Intern. The primary responsibility of AS2 Intern is to serve as an academic mentor to UCLA student-athletes. AS2 Interns are responsible for the development, administration, and evaluation of the academic support programs provided to their assigned student-athletes and for working jointly with relevant constituent groups and individuals in the coordination of skills development and services for student-athletes.

The program emphasizes early identification of academic concerns, fosters academic accountability, and monitors student-athletes' academic and personal transition to a competitive university environment and is a professional practice experience that provides interns with an opportunity to develop direct experience in academic support services for student-athletes, gain significant hands-on experience in program development, mentoring, and athletics administration.

The AS2 Intern position will be a 12 or 9 month assignment. Each position will carry, on average, 15-17 hours per week. The maximum number of hours you will be allowed to work in any given week is 17*. Depending on previous experience, professional interest, supervisor discretion and program availability, interns will be assigned to one of the following four areas: Football Programs, Basketball Programs, Directed Learning Program (DLP) or the Olympic Sports Support Program (OS2).

  • 12 month appointments begin June 17th, 2013 and end June 13th, 2014.
  • 9 month appointments begin September 16th, 2013 and end June 13th, 2014.

Compliance Coordinator
The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) is accepting applications for the position of Compliance Coordinator. Under the direct supervision of the Associate Athletic Director--Compliance, primary responsibilities include monitoring compliance with NCAA, PAC-12 and UCLA rules and regulations; researching NCAA rules, case precedent and interpretations; providing rules education; assisting with initial eligibility reviews and University admissions; implementing the Agent and Amateurism Program, coordinating camp and employment compliance; guiding social media use; and administrative tasks.

Expectations for successful candidates include: Excellent candidates will demonstrate an eagerness to learn on the job and work hard to constantly excel in the position; Candidates should have experience conducting research, possess superior critical thinking skills, and demonstrate strong organizational abilities; Experience working with NCAA Compliance at Division I intercollegiate athletics level is preferred; Working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations is required; Experience working with ACS Athletics or similar database tool is preferred; Commitment to adhere to and comply with NCAA, PAC-12 and University rules and regulations is required; Working knowledge of sports and athletes, specifically, UCLA sports, past and present is preferred; Working knowledge of current Social Media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, among others, is required; Ability to work effectively in teams and independently is required; Ability to attend competitions and events at night and on weekends, as necessary, is required; Strong written and verbal communication skills is required; Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with coaches, students, staff and campus administrators is required; Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree is preferred; Continued employment is contingent upon completion of satisfactory background investigation. Part-Time Football Receptionist

Account Executive - Ticket Sales
The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) is accepting applications for the position of Account Executive - Ticket Sales. Under the direct supervision of the Director of Outbound Sales, the Account Executive - Ticket Sales will sell Football and Men's Basketball season tickets, mini plans, group and individual game tickets. Incumbent will increase ticket sales revenue by maintaining an appropriate call volume to achieve and exceed weekly, monthly and annual sales goals as set by management. These calls will be supplemented with email marketing, face-to-face presentations and in-arena/stadium tours. Incumbent will work all home games as needed, performing various ticket sales and service duties, fulfilling events, servicing groups, and prospecting new sales throughout the game. Performance of assigned duties and responsibilities will be subject to evaluation by the Director of Outbound Sales. Continued employment will be contingent upon satisfactory performance, meeting targeted goals and compliance with University, PAC-12 and NCAA rules and regulations.

All applicants should demonstrate the following abilities: Previous experience selling tickets for a professional and/or college sports program is preferred; Proven track record in sales and building quality relationships, friendly and professional telephone manner and cold calling; Ability to establish solid relationships and work cooperatively with other team members in pursuit of sales goals; Ability to meet sales goals and deadlines; Excellent written, verbal, listening and presentation skills; Working knowledge and experience of men's and women's athletic events and procedures is preferred; Demonstrated organizational skills; Ability to work under time constraints and with conflicting deadlines, frequent interruptions and distractions; Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule, with the ability to work irregular hours, including nights and weekends; Skill in interacting effectively with coaches, student-athletes, parents, administrators, staff, vendors and the general public; Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build effective relationships; Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook and Adobe programs; Experience with ticketing software is preferred; Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to comply with University, Pacific-12 Conference and NCAA rules and regulations; Education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree.
