UCLA Athletics Sales Representative
Hiring: Spring of 2010
Wage Approx: $9 per hour, plus potential for bonuses
Hrs/wk: Approximately 20 hours per week
Qualifications: Strong work ethic (critical), excellent organizational and communication skills and knowledge of Word, Excel, and other basic computer programs. Prior sales experience is desirable.
Job description: This position is responsible for, but not limited to, group and season ticket sales for UCLA Football, Basketball, and other athletic events. Duties will include calling current customers, cold-calling new leads, and following-up on direct mail. Sales Representatives must have the ability to build relationships with for-profit companies, non-profit organizations, as well as individuals in order to maximize sales.

Student Equipment Manager
Applications are being accepted for immediate employment of student equipment managers for all 22 intercollegiate sports teams. Under general supervision of the Head Equipment Coordinator and Head Coach of specific sport, student manager will assist with the issuing, fitting, repair and maintenance of equipment and apparel. Student manager will also transport equipment to and from games/ practice and assist in inventory control. Student Video Assistant
The UCLA Intercollegiate Athletic Department is accepting applications for TWO Student Video Assistant positions to begin immediately. Applicants MUST BE CURRENT, FULL-TIME UCLA STUDENTS. Duties include operating broadcast quality cameras at UCLA sporting events. Applicants must be energetic, hardworking, and able to lift 50 lbs. Flexible working hours are a must, as some work occurs on evenings and weekends. Some travel opportunities may be available. Applications will be accepted until the positions are filled. INTERNSHIPS
ISP Sports Intern
Responsible for assisting in the implementation and fulfillment of
UCLA corporate partnership contracts; responsible for assisting
with game day operations as it relates to pre-game hospitality,
sponsor tabling, product promotion, product distribution, and for
on-field/on-court contests and promotions for various Varsity UCLA
athletic teams.
1. Assist in coordinating, tracking, and updating the UCLA corporate partner inventory management spreadsheet; as well as contract fulfillment as directed.
2. Assist with coordination and collection of advertising copy by defined deadlines. This may include radio, signage, print, and/or internet advertising components.
3. Assists with game day operations:
a. Assist with set-up / take-down for pre-game hospitality, promotions, samplings, etc. at various UCLA athletic events.
b. Assist with on-field / on-court game promotions and/or contests which may include supervision of contestants, sponsor representatives, etc.
c. Assist and conduct pre-game on-field / on-court sponsor tours. Will be responsible for communicating historical information regarding UCLA and the venue in which the tour is being given; will also be responsible for effectively communicating this information to groups of up to 14 people.
4. Assists the General Manager, as directed, with all property promotion and customer service events related to UCLA.
5. Honors ISP obligations as specified in contract with UCLA, clients and vendors.
6. Works to foster positive employee relations and teamwork by:
a. following and supporting ISP policies and procedures,
b. communicating effectively with all operating units,
c. complying with all federal, state, and local regulations, laws, and ordinances in discharging duties, and
d. assisting in the internal training and development programs of ISP.
7. Performs other duties as assigned.

STAFF/ADMINISTRATIVE POSITIONS
Assistant Director for Wooden Athletic Fund
Under the general supervision of the Assistant Athletic Director - Wooden Athletic Fund, the Assistant Director is responsible for managing the Olympic Sports Support Groups program including annual solicitations and programs. The Assistant Director will also be responsible for the coordination of the Olympic Sports special events such as golf tournaments and fundraisers. The Assistant Director will be expected to effectively communicate university fundraising procedures and guidelines to Head Coaches and manage their fundraising efforts. The Assistant Director will also be responsible for donor relations and solicitations in the greater Los Angeles area and frequent face-to-face donor calls, with the goal of increasing annual support or securing a major gift commitment. Additionally, the Assistant Director will work with Assistant Athletic Director and Director of Membership and Marketing of the Wooden Athletic Fund on coordination of Priority Seating Program and management and enforcement of seating policy and upgrade of donors. The Assistant Director will be directly responsible for the Wooden Athletic Fund benefit allocations including priority seating, special ticket needs, and post-season ticket needs. The Assistant Director will also assist in the coordination and implementation of Wooden Fund marketing plan and will conduct solicitations of past Wooden Fund donors and implement plan for follow up with lapsed donors. Will be key liaison for the planning and coordination of UCLA Golf Classic and other events as appropriate.
Qualifications include a bachelor's degree and experience working with donors and administrators in a university environment. Experience in organizing and managing special events. Willingness to work a flex schedule including nights and weekends as required by professional responsibilities. Expertise with software such as Word, Excel and Access. Experience with ticketing, and Archtics and Advance computer systems helpful. Skill in working independently and following through with minimal direction. Demonstrated ability to set and act on priorities that accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities while working under pressure. Strong communication skills to express, both orally and in writing, the mission of the University and the fundraising goals of the campus, especially as they relate to the Athletics department. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with other staff, coaches, administrators, vendors, donors and volunteers. Supervisory skills to provide direction, guidance and training to both professional and support staff. Understanding of how written communication, cultivation of donors contribute to a comprehensive development program. Demonstrated ability to write creative, concise and grammatically correct letters and other written materials. The position is full-time with full benefits.
