Andy Miller, a three-year letterman on UCLA football teams in the late 1980s who has gone on to an outstanding career in national sports media sales, has been named General Manager of the ISP Sports staff that sells and markets corporate sponsorships for Bruin Athletics.
Miller, who will assume his new duties later this month, has served the past two years as an account executive for the National Football League. Previously, he spent seven successful years in a similar capacity with Fox Cable Sports.
"The Bruin family is excited to welcome Andy back to campus in his role with ISP Sports and representing UCLA Athletics in the corporate community," Director of Athletics Dan Guerrero says. "His knowledge of the UCLA tradition of excellence will translate to powerful relationships in Los Angeles and Southern California to benefit our program. We look forward to working with Andy and the continuation of our great relationship with ISP Sports and our sponsors."
Miller played on Terry Donahue-coached Bruin squads in 1987, 1988 and 1989. That '87 team finished 10-2 as Pac-10 co-champs and defeated Florida in the Aloha Bowl. The '88 UCLA team also won 10 games, including a Cotton Bowl victory over Arkansas.
"We are very excited to have Andy as General Manager of our UCLA property," ISP Chairman and CEO Ben Sutton says. "His blend of experiences as a former Bruin student-athlete and a proven sports media sales executive make him a terrific choice for both our company and the athletic program.
"UCLA Athletics is defined by championships and performing at the highest levels in both academics and athletics. We know that Andy and his team will be able to match that excellence in sales and business performance."
Now in its fifth year as the multimedia rights holder for UCLA Athletics, ISP markets a variety of corporate sponsorship opportunities involving Bruin sports, including live play-by-play game radio broadcasts, television programming, game publications, the official athletic department website (UCLABruins.com), and signage and game promotions at university athletic events.
ISP is the nation's largest collegiate sports marketing company with more than 60 college athletic partners, including Pac-10 members Arizona State, Cal, Washington and Washington State in addition to UCLA.
