Members of the Bruin Athletic Council recently worked together to create a children's storybook and activity book for the patients at Mattel Children's Hospital.

The book is entitled "What is a Bruin?", and was written by Ciara Viehweg (Women's Cross Country/Track), and illustrated by Lauren Jirges (Women's Cross Country/Track) and Marco Anzures (Men's Cross Country/Track). The storybook also serves as a coloring book, and includes an activity section that was created by Marci Bernholtz (Gymnastics). Together, these 4 student-athletes are inspired by the bravery, courage and fighting spirit of the kids at Mattel.

On June 1, the student-athletes had the opportunity to visit Mattel Children's Hospital and deliver the books to some of the patients.
