Spieker Aquatics Center

The state-of-the-art Spieker Aquatics Center will provide a first class venue for UCLA's student-athletes as well as the entire university community.

Located just east of the existing Sunset Canyon Recreation Center, the new facility will not only enhance the competitive advantage for Bruin swimming, diving and water polo programs, it will address the expanding need for water on campus.

Thanks in large part to a leadership gift from Tod and Catherine Spieker, the dream of a new home for aquatics on campus will become a reality. The Spieker Aquatics Center is scheduled to open in May 2009.

The Spieker Aquatic Center will include the following features:
  • A 52-meter, all deep water pool with a diving bulkhead
  • Platform for diving as well as one-and three- meter boards
  • Men's and women's locker rooms
  • Permanent seating for 600 people, with the ability to seat 1,700 additional spectators in temporary seating
  • "Wall of Champions" showcasing accomplishments of past teams
  • The total cost of the project is $14 million, and we need your help to get to the finish line.
