270 UCLA Student-Athletes On Spring 2011 Director's Honor Roll Baseball player Ryan Deeter holds highest cumulative GPA.

Ryan Deeter holds the highest cumulative GPA of all UCLA student-athletes, 3.953

A total of 270 UCLA student-athletes earned a spot on the Athletic Director's Honor Roll in the 2011 Spring Quarter. To make the Director's Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a grade-point average of at least 3.0 and pass at least 12 quarter units.

Of the 270 on the honor roll Spring Quarter, 102 earned a 3.5 GPA or greater, and 15 earned a perfect 4.0.

For the academic year, Bruin student-athletes totaled 914 spots on the Director's Honor Roll, an increase from last year's 782 spots.

"Our athletes' academic accomplishments are a source of tremendous pride for the UCLA community," said Dr. Christina Rivera, Assistant Athletic Director - Academic and Student Services. "They compete just as vigorously in the classroom as they do in athletic competition, and the results are commendable. We congratulate them for their pride in scholastic achievement, work ethic and time management skills. They are truly champions in both academics and athletics. We would also like to thank our coaches, academic support staff, faculty and University administration for their support of our academic endeavors."

Women's rowing led all teams with 33 members on the Director's Honor Roll, followed by men's track & field/cross country and women's swimming and diving with 24. Football and men's volleyball had 19 apiece.

Baseball player Ryan Deeter holds the distinction as the student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA at UCLA - 3.953 in Mechanical Engineering.
