Wide receiver Nelson Rosario became just the 10th Bruin to reach the 2,000-yard mark in receiving yards after a six-catch, 102-yard performance in a 45-6 win against Colorado in the Rose Bowl. Quarterback Kevin Prince threw for 225 yards and a career-best four touchdowns.

Freshman Paul Reynolds broke a 6-6 tie in the first of two three-minute overtime sessions, scoring at the 1:25 mark, to lead the men's water polo team past California, 7-6, in a semifinal match of the MPSF Tournament. UCLA's defense held California scoreless the rest of the way, sending the Bruins into the championship match against crosstown rival USC the following day.

Sydney Leroux was selected as the No. 1 pick in the 2012 WPS draft, becoming became the first women's soccer player in UCLA history to go No. 1 overall. She also became the ninth UCLA player in all sports to earn a No. 1 draft selection.

UCLA rallied from a seven point deficit in the final 50 seconds of regulation to tie Washington on a shot by Rebekah Gardner with two seconds remaining and then went on to defeat the Huskies in overtime, 79-73. Corinne Costa matched her own school record with seven blocked shots in the contest.

Men's basketball defeated USC, 55-40, in the opening round of the Pac-12 Tournament, improving UCLA's record to 3-0 against the Trojans on the year. It marked the first time since the 1966-67 team went 4-0 against USC that UCLA defeated the Trojans three or more times in the same season.

Thanks to a 9.95 from Vanessa Zamarripa, a 9.975 from Elyse Hopfner-Hibbs and a meet-clinching 9.85 from final competitor Samantha Peszek, the Bruins totaled 49.375 on beam to overtake meet-leader Stanford and hold off a surging Utah, who finished .05 behind the Bruins.

Sophomore golfer Patrick Cantlay became the first UCLA player to win the prestigious Hogan Award, given annually to the nation's best golfer in all collegiate divisions. The baseball team defeated TCU, 4-1, in Game 2 of the NCAA Los Angeles Super Regional to advance to the College World Series for the second time in the last three seasons. With the victory, UCLA extended its winning streak to nine games and secured its fourth College World Series berth in program history.
