In back-to-back matches, the Bruins defeated #2 Stanford and #1 California in front of capacity crowds at the John Wooden Center. UCLA went on to sweep the season series against both Bay Area teams for the first time since 2000.

Men's golf won the U.S. Collegiate Championship with a 54-hole score of 12-under par 852. Sophomore Patrick Cantlay tied for third place at four-under par a few weeks after playing in the Frys.com Open.

Defensive back Tevin McDonald tied the school record with three interceptions, and running back Derrick Coleman ran for three touchdowns in helping lead UCLA Football to a 31-14 win over California in the Rose Bowl.

Men's soccer head coach Jorge Salcedo earned his 100th career victory as the Bruins won the 2011 Pac-12 title, their third in the last four years, with a 2-0 win over California. UCLA went on to go undefeated in Pac-12 play with a 10-0 record.

A school record 3,826 fans were on hand to witness the UCLA women's soccer team's 5-2 victory over USC. Senior Sydney Leroux scored two goals in her final regular season home contest for the Bruins.

Wide receiver Nelson Rosario became just the 10th Bruin to reach the 2,000-yard mark in receiving yards after a six-catch, 102-yard performance in a 45-6 win against Colorado in the Rose Bowl. Quarterback Kevin Prince threw for 225 yards and a career-best four touchdowns.

Freshman Paul Reynolds broke a 6-6 tie in the first of two three-minute overtime sessions, scoring at the 1:25 mark, to lead the men's water polo team past California, 7-6, in a semifinal match of the MPSF Tournament. UCLA's defense held California scoreless the rest of the way, sending the Bruins into the championship match against crosstown rival USC the following day.

Cristiano Mirarchi scored the game-winning goal in sudden victory overtime, sending the men's water polo team past top-seeded USC, 10-9, in the MPSF Tournament's championship match at Spieker Aquatics Center.

Women's basketball won its first-ever Pac-12 contest, 60-55 over California. The Bruin team set a school record with 13 blocked shots, with sophomore Corinne Costa setting an individual school record with seven blocks.

Led by Travis Wear's game- and career-high 20 points, the men's basketball team defeats Arizona 65-58 at the Wooden Classic in the team's first-ever home Pac-12 game. With the win, the Bruins improved to 11-4 (.733) all-time in Wooden Classic matchups.

Sydney Leroux was selected as the No. 1 pick in the 2012 WPS draft, becoming became the first women's soccer player in UCLA history to go No. 1 overall. She also became the ninth UCLA player in all sports to earn a No. 1 draft selection.

UCLA rallied from a seven point deficit in the final 50 seconds of regulation to tie Washington on a shot by Rebekah Gardner with two seconds remaining and then went on to defeat the Huskies in overtime, 79-73. Corinne Costa matched her own school record with seven blocked shots in the contest.

Men's volleyball coach Al Scates led the Bruins to a three-set sweep against rival USC at the Galen Center. Dozens of former Trojan players attended the match and participated in pre-match ceremonies honoring the Hall of Fame coach in his last road match against USC.

The gymnastics team posted a team score of 198.050 in a dual meet win over Arizona State to break the 198-barrier for the first time since winning the 2004 NCAA Championships.

Lazeric Jones scored 20 points on Senior Day, twice hitting go-ahead baskets in the final 8:39, and men's basketball defeated Washington, 75-69, in the L.A. Sports Arena to prevent the Huskies from clinching the Pac-12 regular-season title on the Bruins' home floor.

Men's basketball defeated USC, 55-40, in the opening round of the Pac-12 Tournament, improving UCLA's record to 3-0 against the Trojans on the year. It marked the first time since the 1966-67 team went 4-0 against USC that UCLA defeated the Trojans three or more times in the same season.

Three Bruin records fell in the pool at the NCAA Swimming Championships to highlight UCLA's competition. Setting new marks were the 200 medley relay team, Kathryn Murphy with her 50 free split in the relay, and Yasi Jahanshahi in the 100 fly.

UCLA won the inaugural Pac-12 Gymnastics Championships with a final rotation rally on the balance beam. Thanks to a 9.95 from Vanessa Zamarripa, a 9.975 from Elyse Hopfner-Hibbs and a meet-clinching 9.85 from final competitor Samantha Peszek, the Bruins totaled 49.375 on beam to overtake meet-leader Stanford and hold off a surging Utah, who finished .05 behind the Bruins.

UCLA softball scored 28 runs in a doubleheader sweep at Cal Poly, as eventual Pac-12 Freshman of the Year Stephany LaRosa went 7-for-8 with three home runs and six runs batted in.

Retiring men's volleyball coach Al Scates won his last home match before a packed house and more than 200 former players in attendance. The Bruins swept BYU in three sets prior to post-match ceremonies honoring Scates' illustrious 50-year career.

The UCLA women's golf team won the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate with a season-best 54 hole total of 15-under par 849. Freshman Erynne Lee won her first collegiate crown with a nine-under total of 207.

Men's tennis won the Pac-12 regular-season title by snapping USC's 45-match winning streak, 4-3 on the road at USC. The Trojans had a 3-1 lead in the match, but singles victories by Dennis Mkrtchian, Marcos Giron and Adrian Puget gave UCLA the win.

Hammer thrower Ida Storm posted the No. 2 mark in UCLA history at the Mt. SAC Relays with a lifetime-best throw of 217-6. The mark also moved her into the conference record books at the No. 9 spot.

In the closest finish in NCAA history, the UCLA Gymnastics team finished in third place, just one-tenth of a point behind champion Alabama and .025 behind runner-up Florida. Vanessa Zamarripa recorded a career-high 39.775 all-around total, including her second perfect 10 of the season on vault.

KK Clark scored with 46 seconds remaining in the first of two overtime sessions, leading the women's water polo team past top-seeded Stanford, 8-7, in the MPSF Tournament's championship match at Stanford's Avery Aquatic Center. UCLA secured its second MPSF Tournament title in three seasons.

Women's golf rallied from six strokes back in the final round to tie LSU for the NCAA West Regional title. The victory was their seventh of the season and their seventh regional championship in the last 11 years. Sophomore Ani Gulugian led the Bruins with a one-under par score of 71 on the final day and tied for sixth place individually.

The women's rowing team raced to a third-place finish at the Pac-12 Championships, earning its best finish in head coach Amy Fuller Kearney's 11-year tenure and its best overall finish since 1991.

Sophomore golfer Patrick Cantlay became the first UCLA player to win the prestigious Hogan Award, given annually to the nation's best golfer in all collegiate divisions. During the season, he played 30 rounds in five under par, received CoSIDA Academic All-America At-Large honors and won the Silver Cup at the 2012 Masters as the low amateur finisher.

The varsity four and varsity eight crews each registered wins in the Petite Final, while the second varsity eight earned the school's first-ever berth in a Grand Final at the NCAA Championships.

Mike Woepse and Alec Faldermeyer posted the highest individual finishes for the Bruin men at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championship, helping the Bruins finish 17th overall.

Turquoise Thompson finished second in the 400m hurdles to record the highest finish by a Bruin woman at the NCAA Championships. She ran a lifetime-best 55.28 and the No. 16 mark in the world at that time with her runner-up finish.

The baseball team defeated TCU, 4-1, in Game 2 of the NCAA Los Angeles Super Regional to advance to the College World Series for the second time in the last three seasons. With the victory, UCLA extended its winning streak to nine games and secured its fourth College World Series berth in program history.
