Jan. 8, 2013
Los Angeles, Calif. - The U.S. Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches Association announced the 2013 Indoor Track and Field Preseason Rankings Tuesday, revealing the Bruin men as the no. 19 team in the country to begin the indoor season. This ranking list puts the men's team 26 spots ahead of their ranking at the finale of the 2012 season, indicating that there is much to look forward to for the Bruins this upcoming season. The women's team will begin the season in the no. 42 position. Arkansas and Clemson hold the top spots in the men's and women's team categories, respectively. Returning for the Bruins are many key elements of last season's success on both the men's and women's sides. Heptathlete Marcus Nilsson, as well as throwers Alec Faldermeyer and Ida Storm, were all participants in the 2012 NCAA Indoor Championships and are looking to build upon last season's performances and come out strong as the indoor season unfolds. The Bruins officially begin their indoor season on Jan. 25 at the Washington Invitational in Seattle, WA. |
