Bruins Complete Day 1 at UW Huskey Classic

The UCLA track and field team's middle and long distance runners completed Day 1 at the UW Husky Classic in the Dempsey Indoor facility in Seattle. In his first season at UCLA, junior Patrick Douglas ran an impressive race to win the 3000m run in a time of 8:38.48
In the men's 5000m run, redshirt senior David McDonald finished in 30th place with a time of 14:24.94. Redshirt sophomore Dustin Fay (13:51.96) and redshirt freshman Lane Werley (13:57.10)and competed in the 5000m invite finishing in 16th and 22nd, respectively.
On Day 2, Daniel Herrera will compete in the 3,000m event and McDonald will see action in the men's one mile run as well. Freshmen Nick Hartle and Alex Monsivaiz will compete in the 800m, while Austin O'Neil and Ferdinand Edman will take on the mile.
The women to see action tomorrow are Turquoise Thompson, Jennifer Owen, Annie Mooney, Kelsey Smith, Sarah Toberty and Meghan Marvin. The senior captain Thompson will compete in the 200m, 400m, and 800m races. Toberty, another senior Bruin, will run the 3,000m alongside Smith, Mooney and Marvin.
