Los Angeles, Calif. - Mike Maynard, Director of the men's and women's Track and Field programs, announces Monday the addition of Sage Stone to his 2013 recruiting class. Stone, a talented high jumper from Mission Viejo, CA, is also one of the top basketball players in Orange County.

The coaching staff is awaiting his arrival for the fall 2013 academic quarter, but they are also interested in what he will accomplish in his final track and field season at Mission Viejo High School.

"We are excited about his future as a Bruin and fully expect him to become a 7' HJ'r this spring," Maynard said. He currently holds a personal best 6'8" in the high jump event.

With the addition of Stone, the Bruins gain strength in another event previously unfilled in the 2013 class. Distance and throwing events have been heavily addressed by Maynard and his coaching staff in the early signing period, and with the signing of Stone they make a big statement for the future of their jumps program.
