Bruins Round Out Weekend With Strong Performance
Oct. 14, 2012
The Bruins rounded out their weekend with another great performance on Saturday in Sunnyvale, Calif. in the Bronco Invitational hosted by Santa Clara University. The women posted a tenth place finish for the second straight day and the men ran to a fifth place finish. The men's 8k team title was won by San Francisco and Cal State San Marcos secured the women's invitational title. After seeing their teammates excel in Madison just one day prior, the second half of the Bruins squads continued the success they've had thus far this season. Redshirt freshman Jen Owen posted the Bruins' top time on the women's side, running the 5k race in 17:55.50 and placed 34th overall. Redshirt sophomore Sierra Vega crossed the finish line just after Owen and took 37th overall (17:57.20). For the men, runners Patrick Douglas and Jacob Wood led the way for the Bruins in the 8k invitational by finishing 22nd and 23rd overall, respectively. Now, the Bruins set their sights on Oct. 27 when they will host and compete in the Pac-12 Championships at Robinson's Ranch Golf Course in Santa Clarita, Calif. This is the second meet hosted by the Bruins in 2012 as they also hosted the Pac-12 Preview a month prior. The Championships kick off with the women's 6k race at 9:40 am, followed by the men's 8k championship at 10:40 am. Men's Individual Results
