Women's Cross Country Places 2nd at Titan Invite

The women's cross country team equaled their highest finish of the season on Friday as the Bruins placed second at the Titan Invitational in Fullerton. Freshman Bronte Golick led the Bruins with an 11th-place finish (18:02.4). Redshirt freshman Meghan Marvin was the No. 3 runner for UCLA, finishing 16th in a time of 18:10.0. Running in the No. 2 spot for the Bruins was sophomore Melissa Skiba, who finished 14th in a time of 18:05.9. Newcomer Hannah Valenzuela finished just behind Marvin in 17th-place with a time of 18:10.9. Sophomore Rachel Butler (23rd, 18:19.1) and rounded out the top five runners for the Bruins. Cal State San Marcos won the team title with 22 points, followed by the Bruins in second with 65 points. On the men's side, three Bruins were in action - redshirt freshman Daniel Rosales (10th, 24:55.7); sophomore Brett Walters (24th, 25:27.5); and Amjed Aboukhadijeh (42nd, 25:57.7). Competing unattached, freshman Sergey Sushchikh won in a time of 24:05.9. Teammate Nathaniel Cushing-Murray, also competing unattached, finished sixth in a time of 24:42.2.
