Los Angeles - The Bruins cross country team will host the Pac-12 Championships Saturday, October 27 at Robinson's Ranch Golf Course in Santa Clarita, Calif. The 15th ranked men and 24th ranked women are looking to capitalize on their regular season success as they head into the championship portion of the 2012 season.

The championships will consist of two races--the meet will kick off with the women's 6,000m race at 9:40 am followed by the men's 8,000m race at 10:40 am. The event will culminate with the awards ceremony at 11:45am.

The women's squad will consist of Katja Goldring, Bronte Golick, Sadee Martinez, Annie Mooney, Sarah Toberty, Kelsey Smith, Caitlin Schmitt, Lyndsey Mull, Jen Owen and Hannah Valenzuela. This group, which features a good mix of young legs and veteran experience, has high expectations after a second place finish last week in Fullerton, Calif. at the Titan Invitational. On the men's side, Saturday's race will showcase Dustin Fay, Sergey Sushchikh, Patrick Douglas, Daniel Herrera, Nohe Lema, David McDonald, Daniel Rosales, Lane Werley, Chase Zukerman and Jacob Wood.

Both squads will have their hands full Saturday with a stiff Pac-12 competition. The men's race will feature three other nationally ranked teams: second ranked Colorado, third ranked Stanford and number eight Oregon. The women's half also looks to be quite a battle, as the Pac-12 holds five other nationally ranked spots outside of the Bruins, including the third through sixth spots (Oregon, Stanford, Arizona and Washington, respectively) as well as the 21st ranked Colorado Buffs.

In last season's conference championships in Tempe, AZ, the men took fourth in the first ever Pac-12 Championships and the women took tenth. Both team titles were claimed by Colorado.

This is the second meet the Bruins have hosted this season. They hosted the Pac-12 Preview a month earlier at the same venue. Now, with some course experience under their belt, the Bruins look to have impressive results on Saturday.

The meet will be covered by the Pac-12 Networks and will be broadcasted on tape delay. Tape-delayed coverage will air on these dates: Nov. 5 - 6 p.m. PT, Nov. 6 - 7 p.m. PT, Nov. 7 - 11 p.m. PT, Nov. 8 - 6 a.m. PT, Nov. 8 - 11 a.m. PT.
