Seven Bruin Cross Country Runners Earn Pac-12 All-Academic Honors

Seven Bruin cross country runners have been honored by the Pac-12 for their success in the classroom and on the course after the conference announced the 2011 All-Academic teams. Three men and four women were named to All-Academic teams highlighted by second-team honors for Alec Govi and Rachel Butler. Govi holds a 3.52 gpa with a double major in economics/political science. Butler has yet to declare a major and has a 3.90 gpa. Earning honorable mention honors were Amjed Aboukhadijeh, Joel Ambo, Katja Goldring, Taryn Pastoor and Caitlin Schmitt. The Pac-12 also announced that Kent Morikawa earned second-team All-Conference honors after his eighth-place finish at the inaugural Pac-12 Championship. |
