Made six starts for the Orleans Firebirds of the Cape Cod League...went 4-0 with a 1.80 ERA, recording a team-leading 42 strikeouts and 11 walks in 35.0 innings...limited the opposition to a .197 batting average and averaged 10.8 strikeouts per nine innings...selected to start for the Eastern Division in the 2009 Under Armour Cape Cod League All-Star Game...was the only Cape Cod League pitcher to register four wins without absorbing any losses...finished eighth in the league in ERA (1.80, minimum 35 innings)...Orleans went 25-17 in the Eastern Division of the Cape Cod League.

Made nine starts for the Orleans Cardinals of the Cape Cod League...recorded a 4.12 ERA and a 4-3 record in 39.1 innings...totaled 43 strikeouts and 23 walks, limiting the opposition to a .268 average...Orleans finished 25-17 in first place in the Eastern Division of the Cape Cod League.

Made nine appearances, including two starts...missed nearly 10 weeks of the season after sustaining a broken left foot off a line drive comebacker in the third inning of his collegiate debut (vs. UC Santa Barbara, Feb. 27)...returned to action April 30 against Loyola Marymount, tossing one scoreless inning...finished his freshman season having logged a 5.60 ERA and 0-2 record in 17.2 innings...totaled eight strikeouts and issued 11 walks...helped preserve UCLA's second of back-to-back shutouts at California (May 24), tossing 1.1 hitless innings in relief of Charles Brewer...earned the start in the Fullerton Regional Final, allowing three runs and six hits in 3.0 innings at Cal State Fullerton (June 2).
