TUCSON, Ariz. --- Freshman center fielder Jason Shroyer's leadoff homer in the bottom of the eighth broke a 10-10 tie and helped Arizona pull out a 12-10 victory over UCLA here Sunday afternoon in the last of a three-game series. The fifth-ranked Cats, who won the last two games of the series, improved to 25-5 and 7-5 in the Six-Pac. The Bruins fell to 10-16 and 5-9.

Arizona jumped to a 6-0 lead in the first inning, helped by senior left fielder Jason Hendricks' 12th home run of the year. Hendricks hit three homers and drove in 13 runs in the series. UCLA came back to take a 7-6 lead after five and a half innings. The Cats re-took the lead in the bottom of the sixth and held a 10-7 lead going into the eighth.

But senior right fielder Eric Byrnes hit his second three-run homer of the day off junior lefty Ryan Moskau to tie the game. Junior center fielder Eric Valent homered twice and tripled for UCLA as well.

Moskau (4-1) earned the win, while senior righty Matt Klein (0-1) took the lost.

Arizona returns to action Tuesday when the Cats travel to Las Vegas to open a two-game series at UNLV at 7 p.m. PST. UA returns to Sancet Field next Friday when it plays host to Southern California at 7 p.m. MST.
