UCLA Baseball Set for Alumni Game and Scoreboard Presentation on Jan. 26

Los Angeles, Calif. - The UCLA baseball team will host its annual Alumni Game on Saturday, Jan. 26, at Jackie Robinson Stadium. The day's events will feature two games - one "Old-Timers" game beginning at 10:30 a.m. and the "Young-Timers" game at 12:15 p.m. UCLA will also be presenting a new 17 X 49 foot state-of-the-art LED video board at the event. Former players who would like to play in either of this year's Alumni Games should contact UCLA Director of Operations Seth Moir (via e-mail at smoir@athletics.ucla.edu or by phone at 310-794-8210) by Wednesday, Jan. 16. Alumni should send their name, baseball jersey number and t-shirt size to Moir when they RSVP. This year's game, as in years past, is free of charge to the public. The 2013 UCLA baseball team will play the "Young-Timers" Alumni Team in an exhibition contest beginning at 12:15 p.m. Baseball alumni from 1980 through 2012 are encouraged to compete for the "Young-Timers" Alumni Team. Before the "Young-Timers" game at 12:15 p.m., the Bruins will hold a short ceremony to present a new LED video board at 12 pm. Photo galleries of the new scoreboard will be posted on uclabruins.com in the coming weeks. The day's events will begin with batting practice at 9:30 a.m., followed by the "Old-Timers" Game at 10:30 a.m. Baseball alumni from the 1930's through 1979 are encouraged to play in the "Old-Timers" Game. Following both games, food and refreshments will be available to former players, former coaches and their families in the Gifford Hitting facility. ABOUT THE REGISTRATION PROCESS - Admission is free to the Alumni Game. The UCLA baseball program does not need a list of alumni family members attending. Stadium gates will open by 9:00 a.m. and participants should report to the third-base bullpen for check-in. Participants will have the opportunity to take batting practice at 9:30 a.m. in order of arrival.
