Fans waiting to get their first look at first-year head coach John Savage and the 2005 UCLA baseball team will have to wait one more day as Friday's season opener against Cal Poly has been rained out. The Bruins and Mustangs will play a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m with the second game beginning within an hour of the first game's conclusion.

For UCLA, Friday night's expected starting pitcher sophomore Hector Ambriz will take the mound in Saturday's first contest and senior right-hander Bryan Beck will start the nightcap.
