UCLA Baseball Sends 19 Players to Summer Leagues

UCLA Summer Baseball Map and List | 2012 Media Guide LOS ANGELES - The UCLA baseball program has sent 19 players, including five incoming freshmen, around the nation to play in the most competitive summer leagues. Adam Plutko and David Berg have joined the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team, and Kevin Williams and Pat Valaika are playing in the Cape Cod League, regarded as the nation's premier summer collegiate league. UCLA has sent eight players to the West Coast Collegiate League (WCCL). Chris Keck, along with incoming freshmen James Kaprielian and Ty Moore, are playing for the Wenatchee AppleSox in the WCCL. Brian Carroll and Justin Hazard, in addition to incoming freshman Felipe Perez, will compete for the Cowlitz Black Bears in the WCCL. Shane Zeile and incoming freshman Hunter Virant will play for the Walla Walla Sweets of the WCCL. Eric Filia-Snyder (Wisconsin), Pat Gallagher (Thunder Bay) and Kevin Kramer (La Crosse) are competing in the Northwoods League. Brenton Allen is playing for the Southampton Breakers of the Hamptons Collegiate League. Incoming freshman catcher Darrell Miller Jr. is competing for the OC Waves of the Orange County Collegiate League. Christoph Bono is playing for the Fontanetti A's of the Far West League, and Jason D'Andrea is competing for the Conejo Oaks of the California Collegiate League.
