Los Angeles, Calif. - UCLA pitchers Adam Plutko and David Berg have been named by Baseball America as two of the top 20 prospects from the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team.

Plutko, a junior from Glendora, Calif., was named as the 15th best prospect from the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team. He went 12-3 with a 2.48 ERA during his sophomore season last year, logging 99 strikeouts and 47 walks in 119.2 innings. Plutko also earned third-team All-America honors from Baseball America in 2012, and finished the 2012 season going 7-0 in his final seven starts while logging a 0.89 ERA with a .180 opposing batting average in that span. He went 3-0 in the postseason, becoming the second pitcher in school history to have compiled at least four career postseason victories, tying a record previously established by Trevor Bauer. During the summer, Plutko posted a 2.63 ERA and registered 12 strikeouts for the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team.

Berg, a sophomore from Covina, Calif., was selected as the No. 20 overall prospect from the U.S. Collegiate National Team. He led all Pac-12 pitchers with a 1.46 ERA and .165 opposing batting average in a Pac-12 record-setting 50 appearances during his freshman season in 2012. Berg also led the nation with a 0.80 WHIP and ranked second in the country with 5.11 hits allowed per nine innings. His 50 appearances (all in relief) tied for the second-highest single-season appearances total in NCAA Division I history as he earned first-team Freshman All-America acclaim from Baseball America and Collegiate Baseball. Berg was also named to the All-Pac-12 team, one of two freshman to receive the honor. He posted a 3.72 ERA with 10 strikeouts in 13.2 innings pitched for the U.S. Collegiate National Team, recording two saves as well.
